Arsenal set to sign Borussia Dortmund youngster Thomas Eisfeld - report

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is said to be set to undergo a medical examination in London, with his move allegedly on the verge of being finalised

Arsenal have all but completed the signing of Borussia Dortmund talent Thomas Eisfeld, according to a report from Ruhr Nachrichten.

An employee of International Soccer Management revealed to the German source that the player is with his agent, Reza Fazeli, in London and pending a medical examination, will soon join the Gunners' ranks.

An attacking midfielder, Eisfeld's dreams of a career in professional football took a blow in late 2009, when he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Following his horror-injury, he has bounced back, however: in the current season with Dortmund's U19 side, heis his team's second-highest scorer, with six goals from 12 games.

Had he stayed at Dortmund Eisfeld would have faced heavy competition for a place, with the Bundesliga champions having signed midfielders Moritz Leitner, Leonardo Bittencourt and Mustafa Amini over the course of the last 12 months. But now, the 19-year-old appears to be on his way to Arsenal for a new challenge.

The player is expected to complete his transfer within the next 24 hours, assuming he passes what will be a stringent medical examination. Arsenal are expected to pay a fee on the order of €475,000 for his
